Dialyse
***Wir dialysieren den Patienten mit einem 3-er Bad.***
This is from a Swiss report about a patient with renal insufficiency. My guess is that the patient is dialysed three times a week - or is there more behind this way of saying it? If so, please let me know!

3K bath
Dialysate is the material that passes through the membrane in dialysis and usually contains substances that diffuse easily in solution. This is also known as a diffusate. It is a chemical bath (serum) that is used to draw waste products out of the blood. Exposure to high amount of dialysate at a unit of 3K(in accordance to the level of potassium) which is quite a standard treatment for haemodialysis when a patient suffers from acute renal failure. The chemical bath can be administered at various levels, and is lowered depending on the severity. Hope that helps.
