posterolateral corner

Example sentence:

Posterolateral aspect of the knee joint (posterolateral corner, sometimes referred to as the popliteal corner)

Peer comment(s):

agree David Tracey, PhD : Yes, this is probably better than popliteal tunnel.

popliteal tunnel

This concerns the tendon of the popliteus muscle, which lies betweein the lateral collateral ligament of the knee and the lateral condyle. There is a bursa between the two, and the tendon is invested by synovial membrane of the knee joint. Probably the best term for this region in English is the popliteal tunnel.

'In this case, the meniscofemoral coronary ligament posterior to the popliteal tunnel could not be sutured.'
