Unusual German usage; this is usually restricted to textiles (in the US, it's called "piping").

The article explains what it is; here, it is used on a label to ID the content of a container. So, I imagine it "rides" the edge of the label. BUT it might also be fancy stuff, looking as if it's piping.
Ideally, you would have an image; I would request one from the end client. Or else, you can make up a word and raise it as an issue for the agency/end client.
