Discussion

Francis Lee (X) Jan 29, 2007:
And wouldn't it normally be just "als Partner"?
Sybille Brückner Jan 29, 2007:
It really must be "vorstellen" in the German text. You may point it out to the customer.
KenOldfield (asker) Jan 29, 2007:
I confirm it is 'vorzustellen' though 'vorstellen' seems more appropriate.
casper (X) Jan 29, 2007:
'vorzustellen' or 'vorstellen' ? Please clarify.

German term (edited): als einen Partner vorzustellen

introduce ourselves as a potential partner

I don't know the remainder of the letter, so I am a bit hesitant how closely you have to stick to the original.
Maybe you can rephrase freely:
Please consider us as a potential partner
We would be glad if you would consider us as a future partner

I agree with all suggestions regarding the correction of the original:
"Gern würden wir Ihnen unsere Firma als Partner vorstellen." would be correct German.
Preferably the word "stellen" should not be used in the following sentence (Such repetions are not well liked in German.)

Danke schön, Sylvie!
agree LillyGK : Yes. And it definitely has to be "vorstellen" and the "einen" should be removed.

Thank you, Lilly. You are perfectly right about the necessary corrections of the German original - the way my brain functions, I tend to overlook such mistakes because I "know" what is meant.
