transporting rails

I have found the webpage of a company called Robel GmbH with a section 'Loading and transporting rails' - although unfortunately they currently have a server issue and the site is not loading (first reference) hopefully this will be fixed at some point!

If this is more serious eg a patent translation, I would suggest 'long-welded rails' (see second reference)

I should probably have added that searching for 'Langschienentransport und Verlegung' for context in German took me to the website of ThyssenKrupp, where it is a section heading and that was the basis for my suggestion:

Info

The UIC Railway Dictionary translates Langschienen as continuous-welded rail or ribbon rail. The "Transport" seems to be a special train designed to transport these extremely long rails.

The lifting of Queens track one last weekend gave me the opportunity to photograph some of CN's Continuous Welded Rail (CWR) cars. I hadn't seen this particular set of cars before, even though I'd seen the CWR train hidden deep in Belleville yard the weekend before.
