In einem Anstellungsvertrag: "Sie erhalten pro Halbjahr drei Arbeitstage als Arbeitszeitausgleich.
Der Arbeitszeitausgleich ist eine freiwillige, jederzeit widerrufliche Leistung unsererseits. Es begründet keinen rechtlichen Anspruch Ihrerseits, weder dem Grunde noch der Höhe nach, weder für die Vergangenheit noch für die Zukunft. Auch bei mehrfacher Gewährung ohne Wiederholung dieses Widerrufs-vor-be-haltes wird kein Anspruch Ihrerseits begründet."

This is what we call it in NZ, it's a compensation for overtime worked, but the employer is under no legal obligation to grant it. The term is also used in the UK (Google) but I was not able to confirm what exactly the British concept entails.
