German term

Inhaberstückaktien

German to English Bus/Financial Investment / Securities
Financial reference information.

"Das Gezeichnete Kapital beträgt € 7.500.000,00. Es ist eingeteilt in 7.500.000 Inhaberstückaktien".

I am amazed that this is niot in the glossaries, but that appears to be the case.

bearer unit shares

Initially, "Stückaktien" were frequently referred to as "notional no-par value shares"; more recently, the less complicated term "unit share" seems to have been more widely accepted.

Unit shares do not have a notional value; their value is simply defined as a fraction of the company's issued share capital.

agree Steffen Pollex (X) : ...which makes a capital increase or decrease easier. :-)

...amongst other things, yes
neutral wrtransco : wouldn't that be a nennwertlose Inhaber.?

Stückaktie = nennwertlose Aktie
agree Kathi Stock : that's it
27 mins
disagree Paul André Arend : unit shares is a wrong translation which is unfortunately used in many translations of German companies (ad hoc communnications) which does not make it widely accepted

neutral Roddy Stegemann : Notional? Is this a financial term with special meaning? What does it mean?

agree Thijs van Dorssen : Right, as opposed to registered shares, (Namensaktien)

neutral Steffen Pollex (X) : But "bearer shares" is just "Inhaberaktien" vs. "Namensaktien". What about "Stuckaktien" vs. "stucklose Aktien"?

bearer shares of no par value

You can also say no par bearer shares. The first three answers to this question are all evidently guesses, and from our experience of IPOs I know this is the right translation.

"What was the exchange ratio?
Under the Merger Agreement of October 16, 1998, the capital stock of ThyssenKrupp AG amounts to DM 2,572,445,220 and is divided into 514,489,044 no-par-value shares. The DM 50 par-value shares of the two former companies were exchanged for no-par-value shares of ThyssenKrupp AG; Thyssen shares at a rate of 1 to 10 and Krupp shares at a rate
of 1 to 7.88."

bearer security

my dictionary Pons (for experts and university) translates it as bearer security. You could also say bearer shares. But I wouldn´t translate "stück" = piece.
