This is from a Berufsausbildungszeugnis for an industrial electrician. The above sentence indicates that 'Arbeitssicherheit' and 'Arbeitsschutz' are two different things. Proz glossaries and google searches indicate 'industrial safety' or 'industrial health and safety' for both terms.

"occupational" is le mot juste for sure and I think the difference here is between "security" and "safety"

So wie ich das verstehe bezieht sich der Begriff "Arbeitsschutz" auf alle Angelegenheiten, die das Wohlbefinden sowie die Sicherheit einer Person an ihrem Arbeitsplatz garantieren sollen. Darunter fällt auch die "Arbeitssicherheit" - womit die konkreten Sicherheitsvorkehrungen und -bestimmungen der entsprechenden Tätigkeit am jeweiligen Arbeitsplatz gemeint sind. (siehe Definition unten)

Health and safety at work

This is what the HSE call it if you are looking for the usual UK term. This i also the name of the legislation covering it

Let's not obfuscate with big words (occupational, obfuscate). :-)

Keep it simple with "job".
Example sentence:

Time was, when you worked at General Motors, you had job security. And with the formerly strong union, you enjoyed job protection as well.
