German term

beloten

German to English Tech/Engineering Engineering (general) soldering turbine blades

solder(ing)

This surely is a though one.

After some googling, i've come to the conclusion that this is some kind of a soldering technique, but there is no distinction between "löten" and "beloten" in English language. The noun Beloten must be solder in that case.

I found some patent documentations about beloten/belotung. They always use soldering for beloten/belotung. Here are some examples:

I'm not an expert, but i hope this will help you.

wetting (with solder)

The process described in your context involves 'wetting' the component to be soldered with a solder preform, a solder paste, etc., after which the final soldering (joining) operation is done at a higher temperature, e.g. in a vacuum furnace.

"When designing for preform use, be sure to provide adequate space between materials for proper wetting."

braze

Some of the patent literature that I have encountered also uses the term "braze" when translating "beloten". I have no idea of exactly what the diference is between "brazing" and "soldering".
