German term

ausdokumentiert

German to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Software
Diese beiden WMI Klassen sind ausdokumentiert, aber funktionsfähig.

This sentence is found in a computer software manual. Tried googling for all forms of the word but only come up with actual code strings.

I've never seen "ausdokumentiert" but I have seen "auskommentiert".
"Comment out" means: "To surround a section of code with comment delimiters or to prefix every line in the section with a comment marker; this prevents it from being compiled or interpreted. Often done when the code is redundant or obsolete, but is being left in the source to make the intent of the active code clearer; also when the code in that section is broken and you want to bypass it in order to debug some other part of the code" (www.faqs.org/docs/jargon/C/comment-out.html)
Might that make sense here?

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "tough to choose between you and Lars because both your comments were excellent... guess I am forced to choose on the basis of the one-minute time difference! But I thank you both very much!"

neutral Lars Helbig : yes, but what about the 'aber'? I don't see a contradiction between being documented and working.

documentation is sometimes discarded after programs are completed and fully operational. Some programmers see documentation primarily as an aid to software development, no longer necessary after it is completed.
agree Michael Hesselnberg (X) : das ist vollkommen sinnlos!!!

just out of curiosity, why are you agreeing with me if you think it is completely senseless?
agree Brandis (X) : think so too

I think, that what is meant here is, that the part in the script, where those two clases are used have been commented out. The passage in question has been marked with the sort of special marker usually meant for commenting ones code, thus temporarly making the computer ignore it.

Since the two classes are fully functional, all you would have to do is to delete the markers and you could (once again) use them.
