Glossary entry (derived from question below)
German term or phrase:
Baureihen der G-Klasse
English translation:
G-class models / models (in the G-class series)
German term
Baureihe
I would assume 'model' would be correct, but I am a bit confounded by the 'Classes' etc. I am translating a piece on the G-Class,
in which there are various references to Modell and Baureihe, as well as Klasse.
Context:
Die Baureihen der G-Klasse
Der G 350 d basiert als einziger Professional auf der Baureihe 463.
Der Motor stammte aus den damaligen PKW-Baureihen.
Many thanks, and hope everyone is well!

: With Björn: "Baureihe" does not mean "G-Class models". This is true.

Also basing that off the fact that we use the term "series" this way in the heavy machinery industry, although it's a bit of an informal term.

Thinking also about the analog between "reihe" and "series," by the way, in case nothing completely official is found.

Thanks! We say "series" for singular and plural, though. An English oddity. :) https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/series-singula...

Discussion
Dann nätte man aausgewogener urteilen köönen.

In any case, it would be great if you, or Alexander, could change the glossary entry. "Baureihe" does not mean "G-Class models"; Alexander suggested a translation for "Baureihen der G-Klasse."
Thanks and enjoy your Sunday!
Also, ich drohe Ihnen freundschaftlich damit, ein "Agree" mit der Begründung zu setzen, dass es kaum einen Unterschied zwischen Flugzeugen und Mercedessen gibt: Es haben schließlich beide Fenster, Türen und vor allem Räder.
Zum "Adäquateren" in Hülle und Fülle". Ich sehe niemanden, der seinen Vorschlag mit einer Referenz belegt hat, abgesehen von mir.

I am a bit puzzled why you aren't looking at two of the world's largest automakers for references. Both of them, Ford and GM, are headquartered in the States.
Here's a Baureihen example in German (in reference to GM):

Regarding Tesla, btw, the term "model" is even part of the name: https://www.bavariadirekt.de/fahrzeugdaten/kfz-suche/tesla/

And half the time, afaik, people just say "car," but that's a topic for another day.
Best wishes
