home/at the house
My house/to the house [home]
the second one is when you are asking someone to go to your home/house. Or again that something is there Ex: Il faudra retourner à la maison.

Thanks.
Sorry...
Thanks very much for the explanations. So just to clarify, if someone asks:
Where are you going? and I want to say I am going home, Can I say Je vais chez moi or je vais aller chez moi, meaning I am going home or do I have to say Je rentre a la maison. (pardon the lack of accents). Thank you.
