French to English Bus/Financial Retail
This term is in an agreement between a retailer and one of its suppliers. The supplier is required to put information about each product in a "fichier de création de produits", including UPC code, catalogue number and price. Whenever these are updated, the file in question must be updated too. It seems to me that the word "création" is being used rather broadly here -- almost figuratively rather than literally.

Is there a way to share points? I decided to go with "updateable product file", but, since the answer "product file" came first, it seems fair to award some points for that answer, and other points for the refinement added a few hours later by another answerer.

Catharine's reaction to Oliver is spot on. This is a routine file with information on products sold. Whenever a new product is offered for sale, one of these files must be created. It's intended to help the retailer understand and sell the products. It has nothing to do with faults.

There is no need in English to translate " création" and "produits" separately.

It is quite normal for workplaces to use terms which may not specify every detail of what they refer to. I think that in the real world, this is the term a retailer would use.

updateable product catalogue/file

updating seems to be important in the context so think it should be included in translation. A list of products with details is usually called a catalogue rather than file imo. "Create" a catalogue/file in following examples:

MyBusinessCatalog will let you create an updateable product catalog on CD or e-shop, to provide your customers with the actual information on your products. The catalog recorded on a CD will never go obsolete, for it has an online update system.
