Mise à gris

French to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals Salle blanche/Clean room
I know the term "salle blanche" is clean room; the "mise à blanc" includes all the cleaning and disinfection operations making it possible to reach a sufficient level of cleanliness to meet the microbiological specifications of a clean room and/or a controlled atmosphere zone.
I understand the definition for "mise à gris" provided in the document to be translated, however, I can't find or decide on a term (preferably a noun) for it:
Une mise à gris est l'ensemble des activités de dépoussiérage et de nettoyage d'une zone permettant d'obtenir un état visuellement propre et ordonné. Toute mise à gris doit être suivie d'une mise à blanc.

Both "mise à gris" and "mise à blanc" are used many times in the document so I'd like to find an equivalent structure for both terms.

In the meantime, I found a NASA document: https://prod.nais.nasa.gov/eps/eps_data/150718-SOL-001-002.p... which uses the term "Gross Cleaning" and "Precision Cleaning" so I'm going with that.

In other words, I suspect that "mise à gris" is cleaning, or basic cleaning, or preliminary cleaning, bringing a room to the level of a clean ("grey") zone, and "mise à blanc" is sterilisation or disinfection, bringing it to the level of a sterile ("white") zone.

@Leslie We had a Spanish-English question a while back on "zona gris" in the hospital context, which is midway between "zona blanca" and "zona negra", and we came to the conclusion that these correspond to what are often called the protective zone ("black": reception, waiting area, etc.), the clean zone ("grey": pre-op, recovery, store, etc.) and the sterile zone ("white": operating suite, scrub room, etc.).

So perhaps mise à blanc could mean sterilisation and mise à gris mere cleaning. I strongly suspect that this pattern is involved in your terms here, and that "mise à blanc" takes it beyond clean to sterile.

Elle précède la qualification de la salle.
