French term

mésencéphale gauche et intraventriculaire

French to English Medical Medical (general)
"un scan révèle une hémorragie intrathalamique du mésencéphale gauche et
intraventriculaire."

The above phrase has me in knots. My best guesses are...

"A scan revealed an intrathalamic and intraventricular hemorrhage of the left midbrain"
OR
"A scan revealed an intraThalamic Hemorrhage of the left midbrain with Intraventricular Extension"

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Discussion

Anne Schulz Apr 15, 2013:
Missing comma? In terms of anatomy, thalamus, midbrain and ventricle are different structures (thalamus is not part of midbrain). Hence a comma may be missing after "intrathalamique", making it a bleed affecting thalamus, left midbrain and (left) ventricle.
