French term

à l’exécution de tout tiers

French to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Teaming Agreement
A teaming agreement between two co-contractors for the submission of a tendering bid (and potentially the resulting contract should it be awarded to the consortium).

Article 5 is:
Nonobstant toute disposition contraire prévue à la PROPOSITION ou au CONTRAT, les obligations de chacune des PARTIES seront exécutées dans le cadre d’une co-¬traitance excluant toute solidarité. (which is ok)
Dans l’hypothèse où la PROPOSITION ou le CONTRAT rendrait les PARTIES solidaires pour l’ensemble ou pour partie seulement des obligations qui y seront stipulées, les dispositions suivantes s’appliqueront: (whis is ok)

But it's the first "disposition" that has lost me:
*cette ne s’appliquerait qu’à l’égard du CLIENT à l’exécution de tout tiers,*

Have I just been looking at this document too long? Any help appreciated! Thanks

writeaway Apr 14, 2010:
thanks cette isn't used like that in Fr so it's probably a typo or a word is missing
Susannah Bayley (asker) Apr 14, 2010:
Hi writeaway - this is the entire phrase, the entire "disposition" - the phrase is a first bullet point in a list following on from the two sentences posted above. I believe "cette" refers to the hypothesis of solidarité (joint responsibility?) between the two parties....
writeaway Apr 14, 2010:
word missing? cette ne s’appliquerait qu’à l’égard du CLIENT à l’exécution de tout tiers
cette what???
please post the entire sentence with the phrase in the question. or better yet, please post the entire "disposition"

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks very much, this seemed the only logical answer given the context. I used "to the exclusion of any or all third parties" and added a note to the client. Thanks very much!"
