French term

visée

French to English Bus/Financial Human Resources Reinsurance
Context:
"Planification des periodes de Budget (UBP) et de *Visee* en collaboration avec le directeur de la Souscription et la Direction Financiere"

"Piloter l'elaboration du Budget (UBP) /*Visee* et de cloture (Planification, Outillage, Assistance aux souscripteurs, controle de coherence, explication des variations, preparation du budget)".

At first I thought this was approved budget but I have just found this translated as 'hedging' in a finance dictionary and would appreciate some views as to whether I am right in my initial translation. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help everyone. I am closing this question without grading. I queried it with the client and they said the meaning was 'prevision budgetaire' or budget estimate/forecast.
polyglot45 Nov 22, 2009:
no solution just an idea to toy with Could "visée" perhaps be linked to the notion of "mettre son visa" - sign off? This would then be the process of obtaining all the necessary approvals

Targeting

"Budgeting and targeting"...

Very tentatively, je propose "targeting", qui reprend et le mot, et l'idée de "visée", et qui est employé dans le monde des affaires, de la finance et du business.

agree Ingeborg Gowans (X) : I would choose "targeting" here in this context
