French term

recrutement par approche directe

Non-PRO French to English Bus/Financial Human Resources website for recruitment agency
This is part of the title of the business whose website I am translating. I have translated the term as 'direct recruitment' but the client is not happy with it. I cannot use 'headhunting' as it appears later and anyway you wouldn't use that term in the title of a business. Any suggestions??

To Emma The clients you work for must have alot more patience than mine - they needed an answer immediately!!

You're supposed to leave questions open a little longer!

intervient dans le conseil en recrutement par approche directe depuis 1998 Later in the text, it is tated that company X: 'intervient dans le conseil en recrutement par approche directe depuis 1998,, which I translated as 'has been involved in direct recruitment consultancy since 1998', which i thought was perfectly fine but this has been queried. Does anyone have anything better?

direct search recruiting

You're right, headhunting firms don't like to be so called, so baldly. Here is the USA the usual bland term for the biz is "executive search". (The consultant *finds* the candidate; it's up to the client to *recruit* the person.)
Peer comment(s):

neutral Julie Barber : Morning Bob. That's simply not true that companies don't call themselves headhunters...it's all over the internet, even if they do often use executive search (which is a good solution here)

It's a prestige thing. The old-line search firms won't use the term; they don't want to be associated with, e.g., headhunters.com!

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Yes I think your suggestion fits the bill in this case. Thanks! (Although I still don't see what's wrong with 'direct recruitment'....!!)"

direct approach recruitment

I actually agree with Julie as headhunting is the word. However, since you have the "chasseur de tête" problem, I would go for a literal translation, used by some sites - although both of these links have French connections...

headhunters / headhunting recruitment, services etc

yes you can use this as the title of a business....and there's a choice: headhunters, headhunting services, headhunting recruitment, headhunter services....

in this example, it's clear that they are headhunters:

ref your question: chasse de tete / approche direct are both the same things though, so using the same word is ok. Changing it a bit by adding 'services' on the end also works.

ps: I do agree with Bob's 'executive search' though...
Note from asker:
Well the problem is that they later use the term 'chasse de tetes' which is obviously headhunters, so i wanted to use something different for recrutement par approche direct. le processus de recrutement par approche directe, plus communément appelé « chasse de têtes ».
