Casino poker
(I know there is more than one term here, but I've taken the liberty of posting them together as they are very closely related.)
I'm translating some rules for poker tournaments in a casino. Many of the terms used in betting are kept in English (e.g. buy-in, re-buy, add-on etc.), but these three - cave, recave, and decave/décave seem to be unique French terms. (Note that the last two also exist as verbs - recaver and décaver.)
I've found the following definitions:
"Recave" sounds like it might merely be a FR alternative for "Re-buy", but I'm much less sure about the other two. (I wondered whether "table stakes" might do for "cave" in some contexts, but again I'm not sure.) Any help appreciated.

Hi Alain - I found that entry too and wasn't sure of its reliability. I was hoping there might be some high-rolling card-sharp on proz who could provide confirmation! |
