I'm confused by the term "volume" here as it seems to be some kind of drawing or model, but I can't find any translations to back me up.
This is from an agreement to set up photovoltaic power station equipment on the roof of a building.
Un volume à créer devant correspondre à la toiture du bâtiment servant d'assiette à l'installation de l'Equipement tel que figurant dans les plans demeurés ci-annexés; ledit volume devant être créé par Monsieur XXX, Géomètre-Expert à XXX, aux termes d'un état descriptif de division en volume.

If it is something that has to be 'created' by a surveyor then I would suggest this.

I see it more as being required for the declaration for building permission for the changes to be made to the building roof, in order to specify the exact position. This is my personal interpretation of course and you will have to see if that fits into context. There must by building permission to make any changes to a building so is there any reference to this in your document?

c’est ce qu’on a appelé l’état de division en volume c'est-à-dire que finalement dans le volume total d’un bâtiment, chacun des propriétaires va acheter un volume et va l’acheter entièrement. Il n’y aura pas de partie commune, chacun des propriétaires est propriétaire d’un volume, d’un espace, découpé dans l’état de descriptif de division, verticalement et horizontalement, et l’ensemble des relations entre les propriétaires est entièrement régi par un cahier des charges, annexé à la propriété.
