French term

face d'éclairement

French to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
This is in the description of a building for an insurance claim relating to fire. I could use some help.

glazed side

Shed means not "shed" but "northlight roofing", i.e. a type of "sawtooth" roof, with a series of glazed northfacing (in principle) vertical planes and inclined southfacing tiled planes. Developed in the 19th (?) century as a means of lighting large industrial workshops.

Scott/Penguin Dict of Bldg also gives it as sawtooth roof.
