French term

3UP parvis

French to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
This is from a list of areas that are being renovated in a Paris hotel located on the avenue d'Iena. The full sentence is:

"Escalier de secours 3UP parvis IENA".

Is the "parvis" referring to the concourse at the front of the hotel on avenue d'Iena? And does "3UP" have something to do with the emergency stairs? It's a bit of a jumble.

Thank you!

UP = unités de passage = exit units

I think that yes, parvis refers to parvis IENA

"unité de passage : La largeur totale des issues d'une pièce ou d'une aire de plancher exprimée en unités de passage (550 mm) doit être déterminée en divisant le nombre de personnes occupant la pièce ou l'aire de plancher par la capacité par unité de passage. " Termium

Sorry previous definition was from GDT.

This is from Termium for "unit of exit width" : "The aggregate width of exits from a room or floor area expressed as units of exit width (22 in.) shall be determined by dividing the occupant load of the room or floor area by the allowable number of persons per unit of exit width specified in Article 3.4.3.3."
