French term

French to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
Discussing parameters for road design.
"Les valeurs admissibiles de l'accélération et de la décélération CONSCIENTE lors d'une manoevure de conduite...".
Is this a standard use of "conscient" with a standard interpretation?

deliberate acceleration/deceleration

Can't quite fit ACCceleration into my thinking (anyone could deliberately push the accelerator to the floor), but unintentional DEceleration could be when you drive into a wall or a parked truck at 100kph.

What I mean is, the acceptable values would necessarily correspond to deliberate acceleration (I can't think of anything much, other than being hit up the exhaust pipe by a jet fighter, that would make a road vehicle accelerate faster than anyone might ever want to make it go), but hitting-stationary-objects-at-speed accidents happen all the time.
