I don't know either but you could ask the moderator. Be that as it may, I have entered Dusty's answer in the gloss.
Non-ProZ.com Sep 16, 2004:
Sorry, I hit the wrong button. I really wanted to accept Dusty's answer... don't know how to reverse the process. But thanks anyway for all suggestions.

disagree Tony M : No, too 'folksy' for this kind of context...

I think you are barking up the wrong tree. See my added comments above.

craft/artistic professions

This really explains it:
4.1 The conservator-restorer’s professional activities are distinct from those of the artistic or craft professions. A basic criterion of this distinction is that, by their activities, conservator- restorers do not create new cultural objects. *****It is the province of the craft and artistic professions **such as metal-smiths, gilders, cabinet-makers, decorators, and others** to reconstruct physically what no longer exists or what cannot be preserved. However, they too can benefit immeasurably from the findings of conservator-restorers, and from their guidance.****

plastic art(s)

It seems to be important to bring out the fact that it does not include visual arts which are mentioned separately
Peer comment(s):

disagree Tony M : Since when were 'plastic arts' NOT 'visual arts?! And 'métiers d'art' SPECIFICALLY means APPLIED arts, which plastic arts are by no means necessarily! Jane's definition covers it perfectly, though I don't like her suggested term.

absolutely not: "arts appliqués" SPECIFICALLY means APPLIED arts

applied arts

I have researched this one before, and I believe the standard translation is this.

I must have got it from either GDT, Eurodicautom or Collins-Robert...

I hate quoting Google stats., but \"applied arts\" gets c. 429,000 hits, compared with just 995 for \"artistic professions\" --- I didn\'t bother looking any further!

Peer comment(s):

agree David Vaughn : Yes, this is the right tone - "crafts" is not formal enough - see Bauhaus for example. I'd also consider going with Visual Arts instead of Fine Arts.
1 hr
Thanks, Vaughn! And yes, definitely, VISUAL arts, NOT 'fine'...
disagree jarry (X) : Craft artist is the correct translation of "méier d'arts" me thinks.
4 hrs
Thanks, Jarry! But I think you've got the noun wrong, inasmuch as it is the 'métier', not the 'artiste' / 'artisan'...
