Seems there's still doubts: Is BNL (Bausch and Lomb) then i.e. B'n L !?
Anca Florescu-Mitchell Jun 1, 2013:
Bausch and Lomb In the Bausch and Lomb catalogue, the filter numbers begin with BNL. The abbreviation BNL is used along with NADIR in the article I attached to my answer but this is an article in English so I am not sure why they would use a French abbreviation.

@ Phil Sorry I'd put up my English version but still no wiser about the BNL NADIR bit.
