Op deze cd kan men kennis maken met de diverse muziekstijlen van de drie bevolkingsgroepen (Hutu, Tutsi en Twa) uit Rwanda. De opnamen werden gerealiseerd van 1973 tot 1988. Tijdens deze periode werd nagenoeg elke heuvel van het land bezocht op zoek naar traditionele muziek. Deze opnamen zijn des te waardevoller aangezien de gebeurtenissen in 1994 de traditionele muziekcultuur in dit land hebben gehypothekeerd.
