How far will this mutation be in my family kinship. = How deeply into my family does this mutation occur? (How many of my other family members will be effected)

Mum's side, Dad's side of the family, My parents, his/ her parents, my kids, my sisters / brothers kids... Not necessarily how many generations.

"For clients, genetic counselling is a complex medical procedure, simultaneously affecting the individual and its family, which is perceived through the collection of personal and family cancer history. Clients are usually informed about hereditary inheritance patterns implicated in family illnesses in their first consultation. Therefore, clients view genetic counselling as a family matter, and usually associate it with heredity based on two perspectives: i) the fear of having inherited a pathogenic mutation from their ancestors (Am I attached to my family diseases?); and ii) the fear of passing the mutated gene on to their descendants (How far will this mutation be in my family kinship?). Several emotions emerge in this context, including a sense of guilt, fear, and impotence/helplessness attached to a feeling of “loss of control”.

I feel your pain! These questions are so incredibly POORLY worded that one cannot conclude what they intend to say. I am an MD and a biologist dealing with genetics on a daily basis, but cannot conclude much. All is possible. It could be that the patient seeks to know how many other members of the family are affected, or possibly carriers, or what the likelihood of transmitting the disease ( or the carrier state) to the next generation is... If you can provide more context for this specific questions, maybe we can jointly figure it out :)
