English term

Shipping Address and Delivery address

English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
If we talk about a parcel to be delivered, will it be ok to say "Shipping Address" of the place where I take the parcel and "Delivery address" of the place where I will bring the parcel?

Or there are some other standard terms?

Shipping address If I'm not mistaken shipping address is more common in the US. I'm not sure if Delivery Address would be the UK equivalent. Let's wait and see if someone can clarify this for us (US and UK variants).

shipping address and delivery address are one the same

'Shipping address' is actually more common, but these are the same thing - the address where the parcel is going. The address where you pick up the parcel is usually termed "pick up address."

Thank you, yx. You're right, of course, that's a typo.

Thank you, Dimitris.
agree Vincentius Mariatmo : I'm agree with Mark. In some cases, there are "Address" (your home address) and "Shipping Address" (where you want the package to be sent, which can be different from your home address). http://www.ssgweb.com/CourseTerms.cfm

shipping TO address and delivery address

"shipping address" and "delivery address" are not the same !

Normally, the addressing is more explicit. In America, we would say : "ship to address", "bill to address" ( the address where to send the bill to ), the "statement to address" ( the address where to send the statement of account to ) and the "delivery address"; most of the time that "delivery address" is a valid postal address but not all the time.

At the beginning of the shipping process, both the "shipping TO address" and the "delivery address" are the same. But at the time the actual delivery is taking place, the delivery address might become different from the one expected : the client may by exemple give late instruction to deliver the good at a different location, or the "shipping to address" may be wrong or incomplete, or the physical location where the delivery took place needs be recorded, or there might be a "call before delivery instruction" given by the client etc.

So the person that does the delivery records the actual "delivered to address" over the "delivery address". It may look like : "Company ABC, 123 Main street, delivered to Mr. White, warehouse 1B on service road".

This is of course a very important information.

sender's address and recipient's address

I am a bit unclear as to what you mean by "shipping address" - do you wish to refer to the location of an *individual* who is sending the package, or do you wish to refer to another address, i.e. post office or FedEx Office, etc.?

In the event that you are referring to individual addresses/ locations, I'd suggest that you stick with the words "sender" and "recipient" - there is little room for confusion that way.

Don't know if this is what you need, but hope it helps.

thanks for clarifying. Arnold007 has made a crucial point. If "sender" and "recipient" don't work for you, using "shipping to" (and certainly "from") will clear up any remaining ambiguities.
Note from asker:
1st address - postal address of web shop, 2nd address - of the buyer who ordered a product

these two terms are NOT identical, pls. see below

shipping address implies the port where the consignment is unloaded (e.g. FOB Hamburg) whereas delivery address refers to the place the consignee or addressee is resident in. The goods are unloaded in Hamburg from where they will be dispatched to the delivery address.
