pool of skills / skill pool
To pool something is to put it all in one place and share it out, divide it up.
An example of this is a 'typing pool'... a whole room full of typists whose skills will be shared up and divided where needed.
X will examine the sum total of skills within the company and ensure that the skills are being divided up and utilised in the correct areas.
They will ensure that all skills (quantity) needed for the company to function at top capacitiy are available (if not, they will recommend recruitment?)
They will ensure that all the skills at the companies disposal are top quality (if not they will recommend further training/re-training).
