English term

w/n

English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks Car parts manufucturing
What does "w/n" stand for?
Does anybody know? Is it an abbreviation of "when"???

The sentence I found "w/n" in is:
"Dimensional masters w/n zero..." or
"Transfer robot between Lo and Hi temp chambers crashed, w/n reset..."

Thanks in advance.

would not

- Dimensional masters would not zero - something to do with dimensional accuracy

- Transfer robot.... crashed, would not reset

Not very common abbreviation, seems to be favoured by techies.

Thank you. I was fairly sure about it.
Note from asker:
Ah, ha! I was able to talk to the person who wrote the report this morning. He said it was "would not" just like you commented. Thank you for your help and I'll select your answer as most helpful after 24hrs has passed.

with no

w/o stands for without, and in the sentences you provide, "with no" seems to fit...I prefer to see the complete sentence, though. if the word after w/n is a noun, "with no" may fit, but if the word after w/n is a verb, it may not.
Note from asker:
That's what I also thought... but it doesn't really make sence in the context. Thank you for your help, though.

within

It may fit in the context. HTH.
Note from asker:
I thought it was a typo of "within", but this person uses "w/n" twice in separate sentences. Thanks anyway.
