Oops, I think the word "attached" is better than "pasted".
Leny Vargas (asker) Jul 11, 2008:
That's the definition given by the agency/client. But "cutout" is not mentioned in the definition. I already submitted the job. I used the english term with the definition in Tagalog in parentheses. The description enumerates what the shoe is composed of... Thanks to all!
Ma. Unica Real Encinares Jul 11, 2008:
Hi Leny, did the source text gave the above mentioned definition? does it refer to "cutout toecap overlay"? As I understood, this is supposed to be a shoe description, or not?
Leny Vargas (asker) Jul 11, 2008:
No sentence Sorry, there is no sentence. But this means "a piece of rubber that covers the toe area". I just wonder if there is an equivalent Tagalog term... :)
P Waters Jul 11, 2008:
Give the sentence Len, so that we can understand the whole context.

After this, I think I will stay on the "buyer" level with regards to shoes, and for that matter, stop nagging about how expensive some of them are, knowing most of the money perhaps go to translation!
dencruise Jul 10, 2008:
I never thought that the most difficult terms to translate would come from the shoe industry. =)
EnTG-Translator Jul 10, 2008:
Len, isa lang masasabi ko: NOSEBLEED!!! :-)

ang bahaging nagtatakip sa ibabaw ng mga daliri ng paa ay hiwalay na idinisenyo at itinahi

"cutout toecap" means that the part of the shoe covering the toes is of a separate pattern from the rest of the shoe upper and hence is stitched or attached separately to the "upper"

2 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks for the help everyone!!! As Ria answered first I will give the point to her. I did not mention "at itinahi" in my translation. What if it was not sewn and just pasted? I can't say, I did not see the image of the shoe. :)"

I believe these are simply referring to peep-hole shoes.

cutout- ginupit; bukas
toecap - unahang bahagi na nagtatakip ng mga daliri sa paa
overlay - takip; ibabaw (in this case need not to be translated)
