environmental

Please I need a translation into Spanish of the term "environmental" but not meaning "ambiente" o "medioambiente". the meaning I need has to come from "ENTORNO" but "entornal" doesn't exist (an example using ambiente would be ambiental), and "del entorno" doesn't fit.

Here's the sentence: "The body IS environmental body-constituting" What I think this means is: "El cuerpo ES cuerpo-constituyéndose _____________"

In the field I'm translating cuerpo-constituyéndose does exist, so that's not the problem, the problem is how to translate environmental in relation to entorno.

Thanks!

aleinadanilec (asker) Jul 2, 2011:
OK everyone, here's the complete paragraph:

"Environment #2 is the one identical body-environment interaction. The body is made of environmental stuff and its organismic events happen in the environment. The body is ENVIRONMENTAL body-constituting. Body-environment is a single sequence of environmental events. Environment #3 is the organism's own environment which it GOES ON IN and thereby constantly regenerates. (The body transitively ‘GOES ITS ENVIRONMENT #3 ON’, you might say.) The present process GOES THE PAST ON. Environment #3 is much larger than the body=environment #2. Many processes go across the dividing membrane."

That's it! I can't use anything that has to do with "ambiente" or "medio" because the definition of "environment" here is "ENTORNO" and can't be anything else. I can't separate "cuerpo-constituyéndose" because that is the correct definition for "body-constituting" in this document. The body-constituting doesn't depend ON the environment, it IS the environment. So yea, it's a little complicated. Thanks all for trying, I'm just going to have to talk to the owner and see what he has to say.

This phrase has no sense I agree with Henry. And asker's interpretation has no sense, either...

The only translation I would dare to give is "La constitución del organismo depende del entorno". That's all, given the context.
Henry Hinds Jul 2, 2011:
CONTEXT Much more is needed to nail the concept, please. It would be real luck for someone to come along who has encountered it before and understands it. The sentence itself without CONTEXT makes no sense, at least not to me.

del medio

Ya que no quieres usar "del entorno", después de consultar algunas fuentes muy buenas, las opciones son "del entorno" o "del medio" o "externo".

No me convence "externo"". Lo que queda al elminar "del entorno" es "del medio".

Además de "ambiental" "externo" en ciertos casos recomienda Marina Orellana en al Glosario internacional del tracutor.

En el Diccionario Oxford, "environmental" es o "ambiental" o "del entorno" o "relacionado con el ambiente/entorno" o "del medio".
