Actually my questions is about how to translate the part where it says "except to …” I really don’t understand if this is saying “pero use…”or what. I don't understand the Englisg structure.
At the end of the paragraph you find the phrase “meets the requirements” and the client sent a glossary where they want that to be “cumple con los requisitos” which makes more complicated to recast the translation to make it understandable.
Don't worry about termoinology, what I am worried about is the translation in Spansih for "except to use... "combined with "meets the requirement".
THIS IS THE SOURCE TEXT:
Proceed as directed for Identification test B, under Insulin Human, except to use 1 mg of USP Insulin Reference Standard of the appropriate species to prepare the Standard digest solution, to use 1 mg of Insulin to prepare the Test digest solution, and to obtain a resolution, R, between digest fragments II and III of not less than 1.9: meets the requirements.
AND THIS IS MY TRANSLATION, THE TERMINOLOGY IS OK, BUT I'M ALMOST SURE THAT THE TRANSLATION REGRADING "except to..." AND "meets the requiremt" IS NOT CORRECT:
Proceda de la misma forma como se indica en la Prueba de identificación B en la sección de Insulina Humana, pero el uso de 1 mg de estándar de referencia de Insulina USP de la especie apropiada para preparar la Solución de digestión estándar, de 1 mg de Insulina para preparar la Solución de digestión de prueba y la obtención de una resolución, R, entre fragmentos de digestión II y III de no menos de 1,9 cumple con los requisitos.

As I understand, the reader should follow the directions of test b, except for the use of... The phrase "en lo que respecta" helps to avoid the misundertanding.
