Tengo una curiosidad. No me ha salido en ninguna traducción hasta los momentos, pero lo he visto en estudios clínicos y me dejó pensando. ¿Cómo traducirían "non-interventional study" o "non-intervention study"? ¿Estudio de observación?
Encontré esta definición en una página llamada "Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety"
"‘Interventional’ means that there is some systematic allocation of patients to specific treatment which may not be what they would have received normally, or there might be investigations or procedures carried out that, again, are not part of routine practice. ‘Non-interventional’ studies involve the patient receiving a medicine as routine treatment, in accordance with the SPC and without any special investigations: in other words, the study is completely observational "

Personalmente, prefiero "estudio observacional" (que, además, se usa mucho más que "estudio no intervencionista"). Ahora bien, algunos autores clasifican dentro de los 'non-interventional studies, los estudios realizados con datos de otros estudios, y los distinguen de los observational studies. En ese caso, es práctico disponer de dos términos.

Ya que estamos, agrego que los 'interventional studies' se denominan "estudios intervencionistas" o "estudios de intervención".
Esto me recuerda que los "estudios observacionales" también se denominan "estudios de observación", como por ejemplo en estas páginas:
