The example I have is:

[name of instrument], for the examination of passports, visas, ID cards and breeder documents.

From what I understand, breeder documents are identity documents in a broad sense, but they carry the meaning of the function they perform in obtaining other documents. For instance, when a passport is required to obtain a residence permit, the passport is the breeder document in this process. But when a birth certificate is required for a passport, the breeder document is the birth certificate.

Is there a specific term for this in Spanish?
