English term

Previous children of relationship

Non-PRO English to Spanish Law/Patents Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs birth certificate
Es para la traducción de un certificado de nacimiento. Mi duda es si se refiere a "hijos extramatrimoniales" o a otra cosa.
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (2): Andrea Quintana, Maria-Jose Pastor

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

shouldn't it be "children of previous relationships"?

hijos de relaciones anteriores

It does sound weird in English but it's not "hijos extramatrimoniales".

disagree Berengere Farras : no! previous children of relationship is not the same as children of previous relationships (word order counts!)

Suerte !

niños anteriores de la pareja

This would be normal in ordinary registers, although it may not be sufficiently formal for the bureaucratic language expected in the context.

Mirándolo otra vez, me parece que tal vez habría sido más correcto decir "hijos" y no "niños", así que quisiera proponer la siguiente enmienda:

hijos anteriores de la pareja

otirs hijos de la relacion

Could it be possible this relates to the number of children born previously to the couple? ie, total number of children the couple has had not including this child. I have seen this datum on hispanic birth certificates,
Peer comment(s):

agree Berengere Farras : yes, it relates to simblings born of the same parents registered on the birth cetificate (Australia). For children from past relationships, it should be mentioned at the bottom "endorsement(s)" part. Should't it read "otros hijos de la relación"?
