An application initiates a transaction on a mobile unit by issuing a BEGIN event. When the compact agent receives this event, it assigns a unique transaction ID and writes them (the event and the ID) in the event log. Pro- Motion allows a number of options to the BEGIN event to further specify transaction behavior.
