"Servus" is used mostly in the central and western part of Romania. "Salut" also means "salute" or "greeting". You can use any of the above to translate "hello"."Buna" is short for "good morning/afternoon/day/evening" for it also means "good" in Romanian. (If the greeting is meant to be more formal than informal, I suggest you translate it as "Buna ziua!"/"Good day", "Buna dimineata!"/"Good morning!", "Buna seara!/Good evening!".)

: Too bad you don't use "servus" (derived from Latin),but you are using "ciao" imported from Italy since the big post-communist Romanian migration.Bless!:-)For meaning of"servus" plz check a good Romanian dictionary. As for its use,it's a matter of choice.

I don't control which words should be used. And I don't have to check the dictionary, because i know what it means. I just guess the asker is interested in the spoken, not necessarily the artistic language.
