Discussion
“pre-load” is the same as the “top punch hold down”, so that particular page starts out saying
( better translations are in bold ) “ For the pressing of definite material, it is necessary that the upper punch continues to rest on the [pressed part] so long until the part is [ejected] from the [die].”
And then the sentence in question should read “ The [force applied to the part] is generally relatively small. It is affected through the [top punch hold down].”
