A gas measurement device that consists of a multiple-ported Pitot tube installed inside a pipe through which gas is flowing; it is installed perpendicular to the flow of gas. The length of the annubar is equal to the diameter of the pipe in which it is installed. An annubar senses the difference between total flowing pressure and static pressure; gas volume is calculated from this difference.

The Annubar device is a registered trademark of Emerson Process Management and refers to a type of multiple port pitot tube differential pressure sensor. There are at least five manufacturers of this type of sensor, besides Emerson, including Veris, Midwest Instrument, Racine Federated's Preso brand, and others.<br /><br />MPPT devices are insertion devices that can, with the application of a suitable differential pressure transmitter, be used as flowmeters.<br /><br />Like any flow measurement device, MPPT devices have application and installation issues.
