life’s blood

English to Persian (Farsi) Art/Literary Poetry & Literature Poetic Expressions
Greetings,

How do you say ‘life’s blood’ in Persian, please?

It is a fairly poetic term, and refers to the blood in your body which is necessary for you to go on living. "Lifeblood" is similar but more figurative.

But as her life's blood slipped away
I thought I heard her say
Don't play around

Btw, I can't help but wonder if خون گلوی حسین really refers to Emām Ḥoseyn’s ‘life’s blood’ rather than literally the blood in his throat.

Best wishes, and many thanks,

Simon

بهانه زندگی، دلیل برای زنده بودن، مایه حیات، لازمه حیات و پویایی

based on the context you can use them. blood خون گلوی حسین has a literal meaning though one can imagine it figuratively as sth which one person longs for.
