This is not to disagree with Fara, only to give > explanation. Originally decal = decorative picture or design printed on specially prepared paper for transfer on to glass, wood other surfaces". Now the meaning covers even windscreen paste-ons. For gen usage like here, pelekat's ok but for special stuff on handicraft there is another word. Chk the kite-making articles. hth
