How would translate the concept of "nut shifting"?

it comes in the following contests, explaining the procedure of Tightening of hydraulically tightened connection:

"A certain number of holes are in the circumference of the nut, those are ment to be used in order to shift it by means of a tool pin which fits in the holes"
ナットの円周に特定の穴があります。ツールピンでナットをシフトする際、ツールピンをその穴に入れてください。

"A stetching procedure check must be performed by counting the numbers of holes the nut is shifted. "
シフトされた穴の数を数えることでストレッチ手順を確認しなければなりません。

In the translation above I used the katakana シフト but there must me a more suitable expression...
