The ESC Association of Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions (ACNAP), endorsed by the Heart Failure Association (HFA) of the ESC, is providing this course on heart failure, specifically targeting European nurses in their local context and language, as part of an ongoing series.
The main objective is to empower nurses to understand the evidence base that underpins the care of people with heart failure. Understanding this will enable nurses to deliver and promote safe, effective, evidence-based care to heart failure patients.
This upcoming course will take place in Italian.

Poiché "failure" ha diversi traducenti (anche all'interno dello stesso contesto medico), vorrei sapere da qualcuno pratico dell'argomento qual è il termine più indicato per tradurlo nell'ambito di questo contesto.

Tengo a precisare che per il termine "heart failure" preferisco sempre "insufficienza cardiaca", ma dall'articolo questo sembra essere il nome ufficiale italiano dell'associazione.

Inoltre, come hai notato, sia il nome dell'associazione che quello della ESC ("European Society of Cardiology") si traducono quando sono riportati per esteso (lasciando appunto le sigle in inglese in parentesi), per il semplice fatto che, come nel caso delle istituzioni UE, si tratta di istituzioni e associazioni internazionali di cui fa parte anche l'Italia. Diverso è il caso per le associazioni specifiche di Paesi anglosassoni, come la "American Heart Association", che vanno appunto lasciate in inglese.

È anche vero che molti testi medici lasciano tutti questi nomi indiscriminatamente in inglese. Non posso dire che sia una scelta totalmente errata, ma sicuramente è sconsigliabile, visto che, nel caso degli enti di cui fa parte il nostro Paese, per il loro nome esiste una traduzione italiana ufficiale o comunque ben consolidata.

E si badi bene che la domanda riguarda un'associazione europea che a sua volta fa parte integrante dell'ESC, e che perciò non va confusa con associazioni specificamente italiane o associazioni di pazienti di determinate patologie (quindi non fondate e formate da medici e ricercatori clinici), che sono entità completamente diverse.
