Does the word hell in the phrase "what the hell" mean hell as in the dictionary definition, a place regarded in various religions as a spiritual realm of evil and suffering, often traditionally depicted as a place of perpetual fire beneath the earth where the wicked are punished after death? Can it be translated as "inferno" or does it have a different meaning as in this example?
