Inglese term

the ancients at their rowdiest

Da Inglese a Italiano Arte/Letteratura Generale/Conversazioni/Auguri/Lettere
Il brano che segue è tratto da un'intervista all'artista Aaron Curry:

Last year you went to Rome and then traveled through parts of Italy. Richard Hawkins played your Virgil, making sure you didn't miss **the ancients at their rowdiest**. Looking at your new heads, floating in their stark monochrome fields, I was struck by what you might be thinking about Hawkins’s work—in this instance, his Zombie heads, painterly, Gustave Moreau-ish fantasies in which various mid-90s male supermodels do their best decapitated-St. John-the-Baptist routine, bloody fringe hanging from their necks. These early and important digitally-made works relate to Hawkins’s infamous collages as well as his later Gauguin-esque gambol through Thailand. Strangely, many people still are, um, troubled by Hawkins’s investigations.
