es como cuando en castellano dicen "aquí estás!" por ej. te estoy buscando y finalmente "here you are" o te estoy esperando y llegas. here it is se podría traducir come "he aquí", chao

Giovanni is right - this expression can mean a number of different things in different contexts, as shown by all the responses & comments below-I think you may be looking for a generalised answer though from the sound of your question?Or is there context?

Do you mean above what does it exactly mean/how is it applied in English? It is very much the same in It and En "here you are" & "eccoti (qui)", in my opinion-finding someone you have been looking for, stating someone has arrived, & giving something

Ecco qui!/prendi!

The expression "here you are" is usually said by a person who gives something to somebody. I lived 8 years in England. Therefore I know.

neutral Alfredo Tutino : I'd say that "eccoti le mie scuse" means "here are my apologies"... In Italian "Eccoti" might mean both "here you are" and "here's to you" (BTW, "eccotelo" means something like "here's to you", not "here you are" - Mimoza, in this case, is wrong)

I would agree, as he is identifying what he is giving - were he to hand the letter over without specifying, he could say "As for my apology - here you are / here goes / here it is"; lots of options in English too, with different shades of meaning :)

Un'altra possibilità per tradurre l'espressione inglese, tra le altre già segnalate e le molte altre posibili, nel caso si trovi qualcuno che si stava cercando.
