English term

slut or whore?

Non-PRO English to Hebrew Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
As in a gentile woman who's a slut. Is shiksa the right word for this? The English/Hebrew dictionary I have gives that word a smiley face (meaning friendly slang, according to their symbol chart). I'm looking for something insulting to a good girl's character. Does that make sense? Something that, if her boyfriend were to hear her called such, he would strike the person who said it. But not too vulgar.

שרמוטה, שרלילה, זנזונת

Since you wanted the less vulgar variants:
שרמוטה (sharmuta) is really Arabic for a whore, but in spoken Hebrew slang it acquired a less offensive/less vulgar tone than the Hebrew זונה (zonah).
שרלילה (sharlila) is newer slang, based on the former, and is even softer (and funnier). It's truely the cotemporary slang term for "slut".
The same goes for זנזונת (zanzonet) which comes from זונה (zonah), but with a diminution suffix.

The boyfriend would smack you for any of these... :-)

zola, fre'cha

Shiksah is definately not it. Shiksah literally means a gentile girl/woman.

The above suggestions (zola, fre'cha) fall under the category of "slut".

these two words are the exact words. the rest are a variation ,depending on the situation
Note from asker:
So, just to clarify, are these two words zona and prutza more or less offensive than zola and fre'cha?
