context is as follows: a new mobile trading platform has been developed by a Forex Trading Company to allow customers to trade from the convenience of their mobile phone. In this context it is mentioned that the mobile application is updated slower than the "land-based platform"

As far as I can read the text and the context it is about a trading platform which is based on technically different platforms. The "mobile" platform using maybe another programming language, having lower bandwidth for communicating and naturally a different user desktop.
So they make a hint that there core business is the trade on the technically advanced platform on the "fixed line" based on large computers and the mobile platform is for convenience of the users but not updated too fast
