Glossary entry (derived from question below)
English term or phrase:
59,3 M (Abkürzung M)
German translation:
Millionen
English term
59,3 M (Abkürzung M)
es geht hier um einen Wirtschafts-/Finanztext. Bei der Abkürzung 'M' bin ich mir unsicher, welcher Betrag gemeint ist. Wem ist die Abkürzung geläufig? Danke!!!
Total revenues amounted € 59.3M in February which was € 4.0M below last year or minus 6.3%.
The aggressive campaign started in the beginning of this year in Germany to acquire and reactivate customers continued. As a result of this the revenues in Germany were “only” 2.8% below last year. As reported last month these kinds of campaigns go with additional catalog and premium expenses. This had a negative impact in our profit and loss statement but have to be seen as an investment in the future. The challenge is to retain these "New" customers and have them order again with us in the near future. Specific actions are in place to get the best possible new business volume from these customers.

Mar 19, 2009 08:05: Steffen Walter changed "Level" from "PRO" to "Non-PRO"
Non-PRO (1): Aniello Scognamiglio (X)
When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Danke, Steffen. Man braucht keine Lizenz zum Gelddrucken mehr, es genügen mehrere Nullen an der richtigen Stelle des Kontoauszugs!
